Final Project making progress

My plates made it into and out of the bisque whole. I decided to glaze them a satin-matte cone 6 white and I had decals made of pages from my daily planner. The yellow pieces on these plates are the decals from inplainsightart.com, pre-cone 011 firing (the yellow burns out). I did a test fire and so far, so good but I have to wait for the final product. We shall see!

  1. Lauren,

I know this is random, but through a strange series of events, I came across your blog and was pleasantly surprised to see your art. I have been working through a theology of aesthetics and communication for a while. However, I am a musician and a writer, not a visual artist. But I think the same questions apply, namely, "Why is it?" and "How do you know?" And so I think you can answer these questions about the fundamental nature of art from a perspective much different than I can. Plus, it looks like you're a professional, and I am definitely not that.

Some short thoughts on it are here: http://iamsubject.blogspot.com/2009/04/narrative-aspect-of-art.html

If you have the time or interest, let me know your thoughts.
